After a lackluster performance in Game 2 of the series the Pens answered back with a complete team effort to take Game 3 and regain the series lead at 2-1. Tonight is not the time to let up. A win tonight and the Pens take a proverbial stranglehold on the series and have Tampa knock, knock, knocking on elimination's door. A loss tonight and it becomes a best of 3.
If the Pens were not already struggling to score goals they will be without one of their leading goal scorers in Chris Kunitz tonight who has been suspended for his elbow to Simon Gagne's head in Game 3. Early predictions have Tangradi slotting into the lineup tonight. Tangradi has the potential to bring a physical net presence who, dare I say, might help us score a goal on the PP.
Speaking of special teams, the Pens need to shut down the Lightning's PP tonight. The PK must be better. So far in the series the Pens have outscored the Lightning 7-2 during 5 on 5 play. On the other hand though the Lightning have outscored the Pens 5-0 during special teams play. You can bet both teams are trying to work out the kinks to play a more complete game in these facets.
If the Pens can get a PP goal or a shorty you have to like our chances. Fleury needs to continue his play from Game 3, and he likes of Letang-Martin-Michalek-Orpik need to continue to frustrate the Bolts during even strength play.
