Tonight the Penguins (45-24-8) (98 pts) head to Florida to take on the Lightning (41-24-11) (93 pts). Tonight's game is bigger than our average trip down to Florida though as if the playoffs began today this would be the Penguins' first round opponent. 

If the Pens win tonight they pretty much at least lock up the 4th spot in the East, along with home ice advantage in the 1st round of the playoffs. Tampa has been sliding as of late going 4-3-3 in their last 10, and have one of the worst records since the all-star break. They will be jacked up tonight knowing what is at stake, and the Penguins better be ready.

Around the NHL, another game that will draw interest from Penguins fans is Atlanta going to Philly to take on the Flyers. Go Thrashers tonight. Pens didn't do themselves any service on Tuesday in their attempt to win the division, but it would be nice to move back to only 1 pt behind in the standings.

Even though he has played 35 more games than Crosby, Steven Stamkos has only tallied 12 more goals.
